Final Day: Recap of The 40 Days Challenge

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

This is the last post of the “40 Days Blogging Challenge”

Let’s recap the last 40 days ( actually 54 days). This blog is born on the 7th of April 2007, with the first entry ” The Birth Of rammelfirdaus.com/blog“. On this first entry I wrote about selecting the perfect blog theme and how frustrated I am installing wordpress.

After 3 days of posting entries, the 4th day was on the mission to promote this blog to get visitors and traffic in. On the 5th day, local bloggers was busy showing of their virtual business card, so I join in on the buzz and made myself one.

During the next 8 days, I was busy with my 1:50 scaled modal house which I need it to be completed before May 3rd. During those 8 days also, I found a few great site that was worth the visit. those 8 days was the busiest.

Then came the unexpected. 2 weeks without internet connection. It was my first and longest days without blogging. Hey, What can I say. I didn’t pay my bills.  After successfully paying the bills, I wrote more about graphics, and architecture for the next 14 days. I also did a few book reviews.

Some useful plugins I found a long the way for Adobe Photoshop, and a few generators for creating instant graphic.

Remember PayPal was updating and performing maintenance, and I had to open a US bank Account? Well, it seems that I haven’t received any email from them yet. The mail I sent should have already arrived  to their doorstep. Luckily Paypal didn’t take long or else I wouldn’t received any funds.

On the 29th day, I found the perfect theme for my next project. But it was personally made by the owner of the web. I thought I can download it and apply it to my next project.

Day 33, I finally found the missing SD drive for my digital camera. That was after I moved around the furniture and clean up the room. This time, the room is more comfortable with space and tidyness and a chair to sit on. I used to sit on the floor, and the computer is on the coffee table.

Today is the last Day of the challenge and a lot of this has happen for the past 40 days.  History has been made. After this, I don’t know if I can post an entry a day, but, I have made it this far with 40 days of entries, so why stop now.  Maybe I  continue on and set another 40 days. But with out the “Day ##” in the post title.

As Hiro in the TV series “Heroes” wouldhave said ” YATTA!!!!” , I finally made it and completed the 40 Days Challenge!

Day 39: I’m So Sleepy.

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I woke up early this morning and did the usual things I do Every morning.

Before I take a shower every morning,  I turn on my computer, check my email and then market/promote products I’m affiliated with. Currently I’m promoting Dominating Amazon.
A very good ebook that explains how to generate more sales as an Amazon Affiliate. I wrote a review about it previously. You can read the review here

After marketing, usually I update this blog before I took a shower. This morning was the opposite. I took a shower first, but I didn’t update this blog yet. I had to go send my car to the workshop to get it fix for tomorrow.

I’ll be traveling on road tomorrow, Driving for 5 hours than rest at a relative house. The next day, drive another 5 hours to my parents house.

I got back from the workshop around 5 and now, I still haven’t pack the bags. So sleepy already. It’s 9:45pm.

P.S. I’ll be launching my blog on the 1st of July in conjunction to completing “The 40 Days Blogging Challenge” Not that grand with press, or cutting ribbons or VIPs. Just a symbol to say this Blog Is Official.

P.S.S. 23 days to go before Harry Potter latest Book is release. ;D

Free Blog Traffic - 7 Steps To Bring Traffic To You Blog

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

You just setup your own blog and it’s ready to go. You’ve Install all the plugins and selected a theme you like out of hundreds. The next step is to bring traffic in. So how do you do that? Before you can bring in traffic, it’s best to have at lease 10 post or articles so your blog doesn’t look empty. Do you want to greet visitors with an empty hand. I don’t think so. That’s the first step.

The next 6 steps after you made your first 10 post:

  1. Ping The Blog Services – After each post you make, ping the blog services to let them know you have a blog and it’s just updated. These services are specially design to track and connect blogs. Ping-O-Matic is one of the services that can ping a number of services with a single click.
  2. Optimize Your Posts for Search Engines – There are rules to follow to get your post listed on search engine result page. Make your blog post title contains the primary keyword, use secondary keywords in your body of your post and use your keywords in the anchor text of links in the body of your posts.
  3. Submit To Press Releases – You blog is new, why not tell the world. Press release is a great way to bring in traffic and a great tool for branding. It’s free advertising and it can bring in massive traffic.
  4. Post on forums – Include your blog URL on your signature. Join forums you are interested in or your niche. Post and respond to other posts. Answer question that can help forum members. The more you expose yourself, the more your blog URL is visible. Don’t Spam. It’s a no-no on forums.
  5. Link exchange – Request link exchange with friends from other blogs related to yours. If you don’t have friends, find a blog you like and post comments. Make friends with the blog owner and create a relationship. The more you post comments the morel likely you will get traffic. Again, don’t spam. It will be a waste of your effort if you spam.
  6. Sign up for MyBlogLog.com - Open an account, install the widget and upload a picture. Every time you visit other blogs with a MyBlogLog widget install, your picture will appear on the widget box. Other people who visit that blog, might click on your picture and go to your blog.

These 7 simple steps should give you a little boost to start building your blog traffic, and it’s free. That’s how I brought traffic to this blog for the past 54 days.
